3 Simply Ways Bosses Get Unstuck



Some days don't you just want to give up on the positive thinking, gratitude mindset stuff? If you're like me, it's hard to get motivated when I'm feeling stuck in my business and in life. Most recently, my friends and I try to encourage each other by jokingly saying "AFGO!"

AFGO stands for "another fucking growth opportunity."


Job loss, health crisis, violent protests. These days, the challenges keep on coming and don't seem to be going away in the near future.


It's hard to shift my perspective, focus on the positives and look on the bright side. Oftentimes, I'm asking if there even is a bright side?

After hearing so many rejections in my business ventures, I want to give up. At what point is it time to just take it as a sign to move in a different direction?


What if the author of Harry Potter best sellers, JK Rowling decided to give up after her 12th rejection? Then the Harry Potter series would never have seen the light of day!


Here's how I'm starting to find peace in all this chaos. It starts with reflecting on the Lao Tzu quote: "Muddy water, let stand, becomes clear."



There is sometime to be said in the power of stillness.


Rather than trying to see the bright side or the opportunity for personal development each time a challenge surfaces, I sit with it. I try not to fix it or try to see it differently.

By not trying to assign any meaning to the circumstances, I'm able to distance myself in order to gain clarity. Once I have some clarity, which could take days, I then take the next step.


Neutralize, then go from there.


Rather than forcing some kind of positive meaning to an unfavorable situation, I select a neutral thought. For instance, I may say something along the lines:


  • This too shall pass.

  • Anything can happen.

  • Nothing is ever set in stone.

  • Change is the only constant.

Once I settle on a neutral thought, I then sit with it and take the next step. Doing something unrelated helps the subconscious mind to process.

Sometimes, the next step is simply going for a walk, taking a nap or just running errands. Either way, I try not to force an emotion.
