Career pivots are critical for personal and professional development. The same can be said in friendship and relationships too. But when do you know it’s time to change direction or if it’s just better to stick it out?
There may not be a right or wrong answer. It’s all about how you manifest your next career breakthrough that matters. After all, life is about the journey, not the destination.
As you may have been following my career journey over the years, there were times when I’ve pivoted “prematurely”. For instance, when I was reactive towards a manager’s decision at work and quitting right then and there.
Other times, I’ve wish I pivoted sooner. For instance, when I was withering away at a cubicle and it was manifesting into health issues.
Of course, when looking back at how life panned out, hindsight is always 20/20. Yet, no experience was wasted as each experience has helped me to grow on a spiritual level. Considering a career pivot?
Here are three steps to help you manifest your next breakthrough:
1. Use your feelings as signals.
Empaths, I’m especially talking to you! Sometimes you may feel as though your career path is blocked. Like you keep hitting a glass ceiling for no reason. You keep getting passed up for a promotion or overlooked for a well-deserved position.
Starting to feel the “Monday Blues” every day of the week? Then carrying it on to the weekend? Time to pay attention to what your feelings are trying to tell you.
Your feelings are how your Higher Self and the Universe guiding you consider making changes. Who knew being an empath could be so advantageous is times of spiritual growth!
This doesn’t mean it has to be a major change. It may not have to be drastic at all. It could even be as simple as a change in perspective. It’s up to you to decide. So get quiet and start tapping into your intuition!
2. Get out of your head.
Ok so you’ve recognized you’ve been feeling out of alignment for a while...maybe it’s been month or even years. Now it’s just to figure out a way to realign yourself back onto your soul path.
Often times, it’s hard to hear what our Higher Self or the Universe is trying to convey to us. We get messages everyday but we aren’t necessarily receiving the divine wisdom because we are stuck in our head.
Yes, gotta love that inner debating committee. But no worries, we all have negative thought patterns.
When you feel blocked, many times it’s an illusion regardless of what your situation is. When I quit my 9-5 job without another job lined up, I felt like I was at the mercy of a recruiter’s timeline. And that was at a glacial pace when I had a mortgage and other major bills to pay!
But once I got out of my head and stopped feeling sorry for myself, I soon began to see that I had the opportunities all along to free myself from “feeling stuck.”
I freed myself from the “helplessness” by choosing to turn my thoughts away from negativity. Instead, each morning, I journaled and meditated until it became a natural habit to envision endless possibilities.
3. Get into your heart.
Once you’re able to get out of your head, change your perception, it’s time to get into your heart so you can start manifesting like whoa.
Whether it’s a 9-5 desk job or a relationship, sometimes it can feel as though you’re trapped for life.
I get it. As a Aries and an empath, I can get pretty emotional over perceived “extreme” circumstances like thinking a situation will be permanent for life and beyond.
Sometimes, our fears lead us to hang on to the perception that we are locked into a life that we don’t want or like. What we often don’t realize is that we have the key to unlock ourselves from this perception.
So step past your fears! Choose steps that allow you to grow, evolve, and shine your light.
Specifically, we can free ourselves by choosing to make small, yet significantly impactful choices that help us pivot. For instance, we can accept responsibility for where we are here in the present moment.
In doing so, we allow ourselves to energetically release from negative emotions. We can then step back into our own power.
