Ever since I was little, I always knew I was highly sensitive to other people’s energies. I didn’t realize that I was an empath but I knew deep down I had an innate ability to intuitively feel and perceive others.
It was a double edge sword. For one thing, if I let my emotions get the best of me, my life became a soap opera. And the months following a breakup, oh forget it!
How to tell if you are an empath...
An empath is someone who is affected by other people’s emotions and feelings. Empaths can perceive good and bad physical sensitivities. They have a deep sense of knowing the motivations and intentions of other people.
Many empaths experience chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, and environmental sensitivities primarily due to their surroundings. They are generally introverted and highly intuitive. Even if an empath is an extrovert, they may prefer to limit how much time they spend with others.
Empaths have a tendency to openly feel their surrounding environment to an extreme more so than what is inside of them. They can be overwhelmed by intimate relationships as they often end up ignoring their own needs.
But empaths can also learn how to ground themselves so that they don't feel too much or become overwhelmed. For many empaths may feel isolated from their peers and feel that being an empath is a disadvantage.
After all, not many people want to be around people who come across too sensitive, overly emotional, or cry all the time.
We can all use our empathic traits to our advantage!
I use to feel being an empath was my Achilles heel. This stemmed from experiencing friends distancing themselves because I was “too emotional” to be around.
And it’s ok. I can understand that now that I’m looking back at how I wasn’t always considerate when I was being an “emotional vampire.” One way to counter the emotional fatigue is to go out in nature. This helps with grounding the chakras.
Other strategies to protect empathic sensitivities include setting boundaries with others, meditation and journaling. Over the years, I learned to better manage my thoughts, feelings and emotions. Being able to strike that balance has done wonders for my personal and professional life.
When it come to emotional and energetic release, our physical bodies do so by sweating it out, crying it out, writing it out, and even singing (activates the throat chakra for those who have blocks communicating). So if you need to release, let go of any self-judgement..especially when it comes to crying.
Our emotions can act as a compass as we navigate our journey to financial freedom. That's right! One of the top benefits of being an empath is being about to use our emotions to attract wealth.
Over time, I learned being an empath is actually a superpower. Our empathic characteristics is a powerful tool.
Fellow empaths, if you do not already recognize it, I hope you realize that you are better able to make tough decisions with your highly instinctive feelings. You're also better able to read people when you first meet them.
All this is so beneficial in creating financial abundance!
So take a moment to reflect on how your superpower has helped you navigate some financial goals. How have your strong emotions helped you to leave a job that you were unhappy in? Or when was the last time you followed the feelings of pure joy to create space for what you desire?
Ultimately, your emotions can shed valuable insights on how to take inspired action. When it comes to achieving your life vision, it comes down to being in the vibration of what you desire.
After all, when we vibrate at the same frequency of the best version of ourselves, we are better able to manifest financial breakthroughs.
Keeping the faith is essential in order to prevent cluttering your energy. If you continuously bounce from self-doubt to self-confidence throughout the day, the ‘yo-yo’-ing will scramble your vibrations.
Sure, it’s not easy to have high-vibe thoughts 100% of the day, but so long as you are able to make an effort to do so 51% of the time, you’ll see progress! So be sure to have trust that what you need will come forth.
Sometimes this may mean taking a break from people who are draining you. This could include taking a mental health day from work or simply journaling out your thoughts.
Start with something small such as making the choice to treat yourself to a long hot shower. Maybe it’s letting yourself pig out on ice cream in front of the T.V. without judging yourself the rest of the evening.
Whatever you do, but sure to choose actions that align with your values in order to raise your vibrational frequency.
Believe me. I learned it the hard way.
I couldn’t stand working another day at my last job. Despite having over 20 years on my mortgage, I did the unthinkable. I quit without a Plan B.
I was so sure this was the right step. I had an inner knowing that I would be ok despite how impulsive and irrational it may have seemed on the surface.
I just knew I would never ever (Taylor Swift’s song should be playing the in the background) EVER step foot in that old office.
So I conveyed this in the most professional manner possible and in a very definitive manner. I also firmly stated that I wanted to resign.
After taking a few weeks to reflect, job search, work on my blog, I recognized that I needed funding to grow my blog business.
I wasn’t quite at the stage in my business where I could pay the bills and live comfortably. Thus, the anxious energy grew in a matter of weeks.
I concluded that I needed to continue to focus on my blog but have a part-time job, so I could have a steady stream of income and not have to worry about my monthly bills.
At first I thought my intuition led me astray because I was 110% sure it was time to leave that career path. In fact, it feels like taking a step back by going into the office to ask for part-time work in a different office.
After much thought, I realized my intuition was spot on. I truly believe my intuition led me to the next step. Though, I assumed it was the ultimate solution to my career breakthrough. Not so.
Universe doesn’t lead us to the ultimate solution, but rather the next step.
I worked hard to raise my vibrations and attract what I was ready for in order for the Universe to respond accordingly.
With this new perspective, I took on teaching more yoga classes, conducting workshops, and began work in a different job on a part-time basis. I even found ways to create multiple streams of passive income.
This brought a sense of relief and most importantly joy. I was able to be creative with my business without having the pressure of needing it to provide me a solid income to pay my bills.
Some may say I was emotional and acted irrationally by resigning before thinking things through. However, I know better than to let such judgments get to me.
I listened to my intuition and did what I did which lead me to removing myself from an unpleasant work environment, having that work life balance, and doing what I love!
