Not sure where to start? Let's start with my top must-haves for Pinterest business marketing...
1. Optimize Keywords.
Pinterest is more of a search engine than a social media platform. Many users will probably say they put their search term in the search bar and browse and engage with what shows up.
Thus, it's important to SEO optimize your boards, pin description, titles, etc. using keywords that are curated for your niche.
2. Hashtags Only in Pin Descriptions.
In addition to using relevant hashtags, the placement of the hashtags matter. Hashtags in account descriptions, board titles, board descriptions or profile names aren't clickable.
The only place you can click and search hashtags are in a Pin's description.
3. Reevaluate Group Boards.
Group boards are still a good way to increase your reach on Pinterest. Especially if you are just starting out or recently re-branded, your pins can be seen by a whole new audience.
So take the time to reevaluate your group boards. This includes assessing the board owner’s followers and collaborators. Is it time to join new groups?
4. Use Plural & Singular Search Terms.
Singular and plural are not interchangeable when it comes to hashtags on Pinterest. So use both if you have two images on the same blog post. Also consider other popular variations such as words that end in "-ing".
5. Use a Pinterest Scheduler.
Tailwind helps me manage my content on Pinterest. I rely on Tailwind to automatically post my pins at optimal times of the day.
Tailwind offers marketing tools such as Smart Scheduling, Analytics & Monitoring, Content Discovery, Promotion, and other time saving features.

Not yet, anyway. Welcome to the land of SEO. It's a long-term strategy with long-term benefits. And it's worth every bit of effort you put in upfront.
SEO takes time to kick in. Pinterest is a visual search engine so you'll just have to hang tight for the algorithms to kick in. Just like you would when waiting for a new blog post to gain traction on Google.
Don't have time to keep up with the latest Pinterest strategies?
Then it's time to use Tailwind SmartLoop to automate your Pinterest traffic.
Repinning your old content is a must-do especially if a pin has gone viral. But doing this can be time consuming. On top of that, Pinterest algorithms can be tricky to stay on top of. So what’s a boss to do?
With Tailwind, you can pre-schedule pins for optimal times. You don’t have to figure out when it the best time to pin. Tailwind does that for ya!
Your content can be published throughout the day via automation. Yes, you don’t have to lift a finger once you schedule your content!
For Pinterest, I create an automatic ‘Smartloop’ that continually publishes evergreen content and bulk upload new graphics/captions.
It’s a great way to automate the manual process of creating pins/grams and posting them to different boards or your feed.
Tailwind Tribes are the most powerful feature for business marketing.
Bloggers and entrepreneurs can easily use Tailwind to drive traffic to their blog in a matter of days or weeks through tribes.
Tailwind Tribes are essentially groups of Pinterest members who create or pin content in similar niches and have agreed to help one another expand their reach and grow.
Overall, Tailwind is an efficient way to manage your presence across the visual web.
Tailwind is an official partner of both Pinterest (and Instagram!) They offer a complete suite of marketing tools including Smart Scheduling, Analytics & Monitoring, Content Discovery, Promotion, and more.
Find out why over 200,000 bloggers, brands and agencies rely on Tailwind as their visual marketing co-pilot for winning on Pinterest and Instagram.
